Airships ‣ Components
An airship consists of multiple components working together to allow it's combat functionality and mobility. Components can be damaged by terrain or enemy airships, and can be repaired or rebuilt by corresponding repair tools on-board.
Component Types
There are 5 types of main groups for components, with some splitting into sub-categories. Each component type is responsible for different attributes of the ship. Listed here are the primary types of components:
Each component posses a unique damage type multiplier, chart can be found here.
Component Effects
Components are subject to various effects, such as fire, fire immunity and broken or damaged states.
As the component's HP stat decreases, its performance takes a hit. Ranging from decreased rate of fire and rotation speed on weapons, to decreased thrust and lift forces being generated by the engines and the balloon correspondingly. As a component breaks, it makes the component unable to operate any longer. For example, a destroyed balloon no longer support the mass of the airship, thus, making it plummet towards the ground.
A broken component's rebuild time is also connected to it's base HP stat and multiplier, read more here.
Component Indicator and Health Bar
Each component apart from the hull can be repaired, rebuilt, buffed or extinguished with engineer tools. Once a player comes close enough to a component the indicator with an icon of the component and a health bar below shows up and the engineer tool can be used on that component and if its a gun it can be mounted.
The indicator shows cooldown and current state of component. It turns red when the component is destroyed and displays rebuild progress. Buff progress is displayed as bar on the left side of the indicator. When a component is buffed additionally to the yellow glowing component texture a small flash icon is shown above the indicator. Also a bar for the remaining buff duration is displayed on the right side.
On weapons loaded with non-default ammunition, the ammo type is shown instead of the gun icon.
While a component is burning the component indicator alternates between the default icon and a fire icon with different amount of flames depending on the amount of fire stacks.
The team colored hull indicator is displayed all the time on the bottom right of the screen.
Damage Indicators
If the player is not directly looking at a damaged component, an indicator of the component's HP and status is displayed at the sides of the screen. With components on fire alternating between fire indicators (a single flame for low fire amount, and 3 flames for high fire amounts.) and destroyed components tinted red.
