Effects
Charged Rounds offer the [[::Category:Classes|player]]'s [[::Category:Weapons|weapons]] increased damage at the cost of a lower firing rate and a smaller clip size. Additionally projectile speed (and therefore arming distance) is increased and spread reduced.
Because of the percent loss of clip size, it is smart to use this ammunition on weapons with smaller clip sizes, like a single shot or double shots, in this case damage per clip will raise by full +30%. But in the rare guns with 3-round magazine it will terribly lower by -13.3% totally damage per magazine. With a further increase in the magazine, due to rounding of the reduced amount of ammunition to an integer, the change in the total amount of damage per magazine varies differently from + 8.3% on guns with 6 or 12 rounds , to decrease by -2.5 % on guns with 4 or 8 rounds on the guns.
Using this ammunition on guns (mostly with already high damage per shot) sometime can raise damage from single shot to new level allowing to destroy some components that can't be destroyed with Normal rounds with one hit or in case Typhon Heavy Flak Cannon Mk. II allowing to destroy more type of ships in single shot.
Common Usage
Weapons that benefit from the the use of Charged Rounds are:
- Mercury Field Gun
- Whirlwind Light Gatling Gun
- Typhon Heavy Flak Cannon Mk. II
- Hellhound Heavy Twin Carronade
- Phobos Mine Launcher
- Lumberjack Heavy Mortar
- Seraph Tempest Missile Launcher Mk. S
In fact, in compare with another gunnery ammunition Charged Rounds can be used more or less effectively in almost any of guns as improved version of Normal rounds, with almost no negative side effects (except a arming distance in some guns), although more specialised rounds can give more specialised befenice. This is often done using the principle "load and forget" espessialy on some of light guns like Whirlwind Light Gatling Gun, unlike such types of ammunition as Lesmok Rounds or Greased Rounds that require more often situational switching to another type of ammunition.
