Effects
Heatsink Clip offer a gunner's weapons fire immunity while active, as well as turret rotation speed. However, projectile speed are lowered as a result. A gunner can leave the weapon with Heatsink ammo in it, and it will remain immune to catching fire. A flamethrower's assault can disable an entire ship, but this ammo can prevent more serious problems by being able to fight back.
Common Usage
The Heatsink Clip is a good alternative to the Fire Extinguisher or Chemical Spray, allowing a gunner to extinguish a weapon without the need of one - still being able to carry a Pipe Wrench for repairing and rebuilding.
Terminology
The use of "Clip" is widely criticized and ridiculed. Most weapons in Icarus utilize canisters, breach-loaders, are link-fed or utilize magazines. The term clip is used to identify a strip of metal that holds and stores munitions while a magazine is a device that feeds a weapon from a reservoir of preloaded ammunition.
